Stampin Sisters in Christ #154

Hi everyone, I would like to express my appreciation to everyone who has visited my blog and left lovely comments, I am very grateful, thank you so much! Crafting is helping me to get through some difficult stuff at the moment.

Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge#154 is to make a card using die cuts, punches and shapes of any kind.

Their verse for this week is “Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”  Isaiah 64:8

For my card I've used papers from the Tea-Thyme collection by Prima.

The diamond shapes were cut out using a Craftwork Cards template, the central piece is a little label from the Tea-Thyme pad and the flowers were made using flower punches.

Stamped verse is "He makes all things beautiful in His time" Ecc 3:11 (by Our Daily Bread Designs).

Hi everyone, I have had a CAS morning today and made a few cards inspired by the Less Is More challenge this week to use a 3-2-1 recipe, that is, 3 of something, 2 of something and 3 of something else. Also had fun using stamps I haven't used for a while!

This first card above is made using stamps by A Stamp in the Hand and Cranberry and Lettuce inks by Adirondack - 3 fruits, 2 colours and 1 banner.

For this card, I used a shaped card blank by Craftwork Cards, border stamp by Glitz Designs and word stamp by Stampendous, stamped using Denim ink by Adirondack - 3 gems, 2 words and 1 border.

I have stamped a heart stamp by Glitz Designs and heat embossed with Egyptian Gold embossing powder, little flower stamp by Penny Black and words stamp by Hero Arts - 3 flowers, 2 words, 1 heart.

I would also like to enter this card as my second entry into the ATS Addicted to [Gold] Challenge 2 to make a card using GOLD.

This card was made by inking a panel with Artnic Cinnamon and Umber inks, and stamping in Umber with a little leafy stamp from a set by Hobby Art, word stamp by Hero Arts - 3 words, 2 colours, 1 panel.

I used the Dots N Flowers stamps (Hero Arts) to stamp the flowers onto patterned paper and cut them out, stamped the stems and leaves - 3 flowers, 2 pearls, 1 ribbon.

My card has three leaves (stamp by Hero Arts), two shades of green (Ranger Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint) and one sentiment (stamp by TPC).

I would also like to enter this card into the CASology challenge this week to make a card using GREEN.

ATS Addicted to {Gold} challenge 2

Hello everybody, hope you have had a good day!

I was considering whether or not to actually post this card for the Addicted to Stamps Addicted to [Gold] Challenge 2 because its made entirely with gold peel-offs.

Peel-offs, love them or hate them? They are a bit like that mulberry paper, LOL there may be some that have been languishing in your craft stash for years!

I cut a label shape out of cream card and edged with peel-offs, cut the flowers out, added a few flourishes and a sentiment.

Speedy Fox and Friends challenge 121

Hi everyone, and a warm welcome to new member, Ardyth.

The current Speedy Fox and Friends challenge is to make "nice friendly cards to warm the heart of a friend".

As the sentiment I used is "Friends are the sunshine of life",  I wanted to have nice sunny colours on my card. I cut a square piece of white card and stamped some flowers from a Hobby Art stamp set and heat embossed in black, used a circle punch to make a mask for the sun, and coloured with Ranger distress inks.

One Layer Wednesday no 101

Hi everybody and a big hello and welcome to new members Stephanie and Marie!

This is my first entry in the One Layer Wednesday challenge to make a card using the colour BLUE. I would also like to enter this card into the Addicted to Stamps challenge (2nd entry), theme challenge #2 - a card for BOYS.

I've stamped all the elements with Ranger Distress Ink (Faded Jeans) and water-coloured with Aqua Markers.

Ocean scene, bird and anchor stamps by Kanban, sentiment stamp by Craftwork Cards.

I also made a DL version, as I don't have many mens cards in my stash - this time I stamped with black Memento and water-coloured with Ranger Distress Inks (sentiment stamp by Dawn Bibby Designs).

Was hoping to carry on crafting but the craft room is a little hot to say the least!

I made my card: a little panel stamped with the grass (by Marion Emberson) and butterfly (by Inkylicious) in pink embossing ink and heat embossing with pearl plum powder, mounted onto torn mulberry paper. The dots were made with a glue pen and silver embossing powder.

This is another one I made with mulberry paper, a Craftwork Cards stamp embossed with twinkly embossing powder onto vellum and coloured on the back.

Speedy Fox challenge 120

Hi everyone, Speedy Fox & Friends have a challenge this week to make a card with DOTS.

I made my background by inking with a few colours through different masks (including dots) and stamped with Sepia archival.

The red panel was made by embossing a piece of Coredinations card with the Sizzix Embossing Boutique with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.

I stamped the other Coredinations panel with stamps from the Vintage Blue stamp set by Glitz and added some dots with white distress stain and the dotty mask, toned down with some distress ink.

Sunday Style challenge 4

Hi everyone, on my browsing travels I came across the Sunday Style Challenge at  Scrappin N Style blog and was challenged to make a card using pool party colours (plus a stamp and a punch)

I used stamps from the Dots N Flowers clear stamp set by Hero Arts, stamped the flower panel twice and the large flower once in black Brilliance ink and embossed with clear powder. I found some Marvy markers which matched the challenge colours, scribbled them onto my ceramic tile and picked up the colour with a water brush to colour the panels and flower **.  I put some aqua card through the Sizzix Embossing Boutique, and used two punches, one for the border and one for the little leafy fronds which I coloured to match. I found this card quite challenging as these are not colours I would normally put together on a card!

** TIP: you can use this technique with marker pens that don't have enough ink to colour onto card well.

ATS 'Make Your Mark' Challenge 2

Hi everyone, Addicted to Stamps have their second 'Make Your Mark' challenge this week to make a project using markers.

It was nice to use some stamps I haven't used for quite a long time, and this solid image oriental lady stamp by A Stamp in the Hand is perfect to use with the technique of using markers as ink pads!

I find white glossy card is the best to use for this technique of colouring directly onto your stamp using dye/water based markers. After stamping the main image you can then scribble a little ink onto a non-porous surface (I use a large white ceramic tile) and fill in any gaps or highlight areas with a small stencil brush. I also made the background this way and stamped some little oriental characters and bamboo. Handmade paper was used as a backing before mounting onto black.
