OLW challenge 106 and Craft a Scene

Hi everyone, One Layer Wednesday challenge this week is to use SPONGING.

Craft A Scene September challenge is to make a scene using TREES.

I've used tree and flower stamps by Katy Sue Designs, words stamp by Hobby Art.

I do find sponging quite a difficult technique and shortly after I had begun this card, I was feeling like I wanted to give up! Fingers were covered in blue ink and it seemed like I'd never finish. But in the end it all came together. I think perhaps I am using the wrong type of sponge. I use make-up sponges but would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions as to the best sort of sponge to use.

Thank you for all the lovely comments you have left recently. Its so encouraging, I do so appreciate them and it gives me a link to your blog so I can visit you! Thank you for stopping by, have a good evening.

Sue x

Looks lovely. I've seen Barbara Grey demo on Create&Craft and she's used makeup sponges folded into a mushroom shape. You can see some 'classroom' demos on their site. HTH :)

Hi Sue, Your card is beautiful and very atmospheric, you've sponged it really well. When I'm sponging I use Ranger's Cut and dry foam because it's designed to repel the ink. It's the stuff they make ink pads out of I was told but it seems you managed very well with your make up sponge, not sure you need it! LOL Gay x
