I think this might be the first Christmas card I've blogged this year and it nearly didn't make it. After experimenting with different backgrounds, I made one I really liked using smooshing with acetate, then the stamping of the trees went wrong so feeling disappointed I began again. This one I don't think is as good as the first but anyhow I stamped the trees and assembled the card, then shock horrors, there was an inky smudge on the bottom so I chopped that bit off and finished up with a card that's smaller than it should have been.
My card was inspired by the colours at CAS Colours and Sketches. I scribbled SU! markers onto a piece of acetate, misted with water and used that to paint the background. This was a good excuse to use some nice Christmas tree stamps that I bought to use last Christmas but never got to it. Again, I inked the stamps with the markers and misted with water before stamping. The sentiment is heat embossed in silver.

It may not be what you had envisioned but it is a really really pretty card. I doubt I could recreate it, but I may try to. It is very lovely.
I would have never known you struggled with the background on this card, turned out fabulous. Thanks for joining us at CC&S.
So pretty CAS perfection and love the tree line and the proportion of white space. Awesome card, thanks for playing along with CAS Watercolour :)
Wonderful water colours, lovely card Sue
This is beautiful, Sue! I love the background with so much dimension in color and the sweet trees sitting on a snowy hill! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!
I'm so glad you kept at it because this is just lovely. I love the smooshed background and the stamped trees fit right into the theme. Very clean and crisp sentiment. It does seem if you get everything else right, one little thing goes wrong be it a smudge or I drop the ink pad on the card! I would like to CASE this one.
Your watercoloured trees are amazing, Sue. They turned out perfectly! And I love the acetate smooshed background. Keeping it in the same shades creates a very peaceful look to your winter scene. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour! xx
Beautiful Christmas card, Sue. Kisses!
