Let the flowers in your heart bloom

When I saw this week's sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches, I thought the wildflower dies would be good to use. I cut them out of watercolour card and painted them with Zig watercolour pens and wet brush.

Time Out Guest Designer

I'm very happy to be guest designer at Time Out Challenges where the theme for the next fortnight is Sympathy with the optional twist of distressing (use distress inks, distress edges, paper tearing etc).

To make my card, I sponged distress inks onto the leaf die-cuts and arranged them around the die-cut aperture.

Autumn: the year's last loveliest smile

I wanted to try and create something of the beauty of an autumn leaf using watercolours.  Not sure if it worked but this is what I made.

I drew the leaf on watercolour card and painted with Zig watercolour pens and wet brush.

Thanks for looking!

CAS Mix Up Guest Designer

Greetings, everyone. I am very honoured to be posting this card as
October Guest Designer at CAS Mix Up, and there is still plenty of time to enter!

I created a background with two stencils and a stamp and distress inks, layered the stencilled flowers over the top, added some crystal lacquer and glitter glue, and stamped sentiment.

Enjoy The Little Things

Taking inspiration from four challenges today. Firstly the colour selection

The theme at Less Is More is Watercolour which goes so well with flowers.

The Flower Challenge wants to see projects using Your Favourite Flower and one of my favourite flowers is roses. I have a beautiful orange rose bush in my garden but sadly it's not flowering at the moment.

Also joining in at Watercooler Wednesday - Feminine Anything Goes.

I inked the flower stamp with distress markers, painted it over with a wet brush before stamping and added more colour and watercolour background.

Thanks for looking!

Guest Designing at CAS Mix Up

I am absolutely delighted to be this month's Guest Designer at CAS Mix Up, where the theme is layered stencils. I had so much fun experimenting with stencils and here is what I made.

I started with a piece of watercolour paper and applied a pale blue wash, stencilled in green, and then again over that with the green grass, blue mesh and dragonfly. The butterfly was heat embossed in black and water coloured with distress inks and sentiment heat embossed in white.

I do hope you will be able to join in the fun and I look forward to seeing your stencil creations!

Thank you for stopping by my blog. x

AAA Cards (GD), Less Is More

I'm thrilled to be Guest Designer at AAA Cards for Game #100 and this fortnight we have a sketch to play with.  Here's what I made.

I stamped the flowers stamp in black Memento on water colour card and water coloured with Zig  pens.

Looking forward to seeing how you use the sketch!
