Cottage Garden card 3

Above is a 70th birthday card which a friend asked me to make and I have used some card and toppers from the Cottage Garden set from Hunkydory:- half an A4 sheet of the lovely soft watercolour background card, a foiled topper which I layered onto a square of Adorable Scorable with some picket fence diecut along the bottom (the photo doesn't show the lovely gold foiling on the little fence) and a sentiment with a bow.

The set is good value as there are plenty of diecuts, toppers, sentiments and A4 card sheets.

Sweet Pea card 5

Another card with the lovely Sweet Pea collection by Craftwork Cards.

1. Cut two pieces of cream card 7" x 5.5" inches and cut a rectangle aperture 2.5" x 4" in one piece.

2. Cut out a scallop edge on the shorter ends of both pieces (optional).

3. Make score lines 1" and 2" in from all four of the shorter edges (to enable you to form your "box" shape).

4. Add a panel of embossed paper in the back of the box and two thin panels down each side on the front as shown in the photo and cover the front of the box with the striped paper.

5. Add some more of the paper and some die cut flower shapes to the back panel.

6. Apply adhesive to the scalloped edges and stick the front and back together.

7. Punch a scallop from the embossed paper and use it to mount your message. Decorate with Card Candi.

Cottage garden cards 1 and 2

I've made a couple of cards with the new Cottage Garden Florals collection by Hunkydory.  The soft watercolours and delicate flittering are pretty!

TIP: Some of the diecut elements are delicate and quite a lot of care needs to be taken when "popping" them out.

With Love card 2

"With love"

The recently introduced Flower Patch and Butterflies stamp sets from Dawn Bibby Designs are beautiful and so versatile.

I made this simple little card by using a few of the stamps with Tim Holtz Distress ink on a small white card blank, picked up some of the ink with a waterbrush to add some colour to the images and used the Tim Holtz distress tool to add some colour to the edges.

Happy Birthday Card 2

"Birthday Wishes"

The image is stamped with a bird stamp by Stampavie which I think is a lovely stamp for Spring cards and coloured by painting with Tim Holtz distress inks. **

The frame is made from white card with the edge punched using Martha Stewart corner & border punches and the edges inked.

I covered a card blank with pink paper and then used some other papers to make the flower by cutting out three layers using the Spring Fling template and added a Card Candi (both by Craftword Cards) and added a Craftwork Cards message.

** TIP:: To paint using ink pads, tap your ink pads onto a large white ceramic tile and then they are easy to blend and paint with using a water brush. If they dry overnight, they can be refreshed with a little water and clean-up is easy with a wet wipe or tissue.
