CAS on Friday, Color Throwdown, HLS Watercolour, Inkspirational, Seize The Birthday

Dear crafting friends, I hope you are having a good weekend.

Flowers are one of my favourite themes for card-making and this one was inspired by the Color Throwdown colours (orange, brown and green). These colours are autumnal but when I saw the combination I thought about these flower stamps.

I inked my stamp with distress markers, misted with water and stamped. More distress inks were added using water and paint brush.

CAS Mix Up (GD)

Hi everyone and happy Saturday!

I am so happy and excited to be Guest Designer at CAS Mix Up

tissue paper, spray inks, Versamark ink, gold embossing powder, die-cuts

To make my card, I sprayed some white tissue with hot pink and orange ink sprays. After it dried, I glued it to a piece of card with PVA glue and gently formed ridges in the tissue with my fingers. When the glue was dry, I lightly tapped the piece with a Versamark inkpad, sprinkled on gold embossing powder and heated, added a die-cut panel and branch and some gold glitter dots and gold heat embossed sentiment.

Tissue paper is a new medium for me and I had fun experimenting. I do hope you can join in the fun  and look forward to seeing your creations. There's lots of gorgeous inspiration from the lovely CAS Mix Up design team and some video tutorials to get you started.

On a personal note

I wasn't sure whether or not to write this post, but felt it would be good to say firstly, sorry for not being around for the last few weeks and secondly, to say from the bottom of my heart thank you to everyone who visits and follows my blog and for your lovely comments which are always a joy to read.

My mum has been in hospital for two and a half weeks and sadly, due to dementia, she didn't do well there and lost weight. Happily she has been home for a week and doing a little better.

The Flower Challenge, HLS Anything Goes with Dies, HLS Watercolour, Seize the Birthday

At last! I have been able to make a card that's been in the planning for a while. As soon as I saw Karen's beautiful card at The Flower Challenge, I knew I wanted to CASE it using alcohol inks (especially as I haven't used them for a while!). Things have been a bit tough going this week hence the delay.

So here it is and I'm happy with how it turned out. I was pleased with the colours and how they blended together, giving the impression of plants, leaves, sky etc. The inks I used were Tim Holtz Aqua, Sailboat Blue, Limeade and Meadow.

They were applied randomly straight from the bottles onto Yupo card without any blending solution and I moved the inks about by tilting the card from side to side. The little grassy and "frondy" bits were achieved by using a air puffing tool to blow the inks around.

Linking up to four challenges:
The Flower Challenge - CASE a DT Member
Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with Dies
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes (not using the toppings option)

I'm hoping to be able to join in a few more challenges with another card if I get time later.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! Have a wonderful evening and happy crafting.

Less Is More, City Crafters, Make My Monday

The colour challenge at Less Is More is Grey and Yellow and here is what I made. For some reason the shades of yellow look darker in the photo than IRL. I resisted the urge to add sequins and kept it very CAS.

Got a busy weekend ahead. It's a good friend's birthday tomorrow so will be popping round with her card and pressie. Tomorrow I'm going to a seminar at a church in another town, church on Sunday  morning and After Church Fellowship in the evening. Will also try and squeeze in some crafting time too. Hope you have some great plans for your weekend, have a good one!

Greetings, everyone. I'm very pleased to be guest star stamper at Color Throwdown and this is what I made using the lovely soft colour palette.
