Foliage!

Hi everyone and welcome greetings to new member, Kathy.

Here is the first Christmas foliage card which I made by first sponging with red ink through a distressed diamonds mask. I find this mask is so useful for many different types of cards, including Christmas and mens cards.

I stamped the large holly stamp (Personal Impressions) with black Memento and coloured in with an aqua brush and Ranger distress inks. Message stamp by TPC.

For this card I stamped the message (TPC) onto a gold edged die cut and decorated it with leaves punched out of gold and green glitter papers and red pearls.

This card was made by stamping the two leaves (Me and Carrie Lou) onto pale yellow vellum, heat embossing in white and colouring in green. I've attached it to the card after stamping the manuscript (A Stamp in the Hand) with Fired Brick distress ink and adding another couple of pieces of vellum.

Well, that's my ahem (non one-layer) foliage cards.

ATS 'Make Your Mark' Challenge 2

Hi everyone, Addicted to Stamps have their second 'Make Your Mark' challenge this week to make a project using markers.

It was nice to use some stamps I haven't used for quite a long time, and this solid image oriental lady stamp by A Stamp in the Hand is perfect to use with the technique of using markers as ink pads!

I find white glossy card is the best to use for this technique of colouring directly onto your stamp using dye/water based markers. After stamping the main image you can then scribble a little ink onto a non-porous surface (I use a large white ceramic tile) and fill in any gaps or highlight areas with a small stencil brush. I also made the background this way and stamped some little oriental characters and bamboo. Handmade paper was used as a backing before mounting onto black.

Addicted to Stamps blue challenge 1

Hi everybody, Addicted to Stamps challenge this week (Addicted to {blue} challenge 1) is to make a card using the colour BLUE.

So here is my offering. :)

1. Take a piece of white card and colour all over using Colorbox multi-color pigment ink pads and applicator.
2. Stamp vase and flowers image in black Memento, paint image using Tim Holtz distress inks and water brush, overstamp the whole thing with crackle background and distress edges with Tim Holtz distress ink and distress tool.
3. Cut two pieces of Coredinations card, emboss one piece with Sizzix Embossing Boutique and stamp the other with swirl stamp and dye ink.
4. Attach all pieces to card blank, add some little flower embellishments, glitter glue and nice threads. Voila!

Whoops, nearly forgot the credits, flowers and vase stamp by A Stamp in the Hand, crackle background by Judikins, swirl stamp by DeNami.
