CAS Stencil March Card Challenge

The technique for this month at CAS Stencil Challenge is "Ghosting" - a fun technique where a stencil is placed over an inky background (made with anything water soluble such as distress inks, paints, distress crayons) and then rubbed over with a baby wipe or misted with water to remove some of the colour leaving a 'ghost' of the stencil. We have some helpful tutorials on the CAS Stencil blog.

To make my card, I inked a background with two colours of distress ink, placed a leaf stencil over the top, misted with water and then mopped up any excess moisture with paper towel.

The other DT members and our guest designer have some fabulous creations to inspire you and we look forward to seeing what you make.

Thanks for looking!

A beautiful watery look to your stenciled background Sue! Love the colors and the layered stem tucked inside your pretty white framing! I like that you stamped the sentiment in red as well - I always reach for the black but sometimes that's too stark and a color would be better as is the case here! xx

LOVE that background Sue! Gorgeous colours and soft, dream ghosting to create a very etereal looking backdrop for your beautiful leaf die. Beautiful design with the thick white embossed frame. xx

This is so bright and cheerful. Love that you used a leaf stencil, then a leaf die on top. Very pretty design and pretty frame too.

Lovely card, Sue! I had never heard of the "ghosting" technique, so after seeing your card, I've promised myself I have to try it. The shades of pink, and the way you framed the card are really pretty! Thank you for sharing your creativity with us at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges!!! -Donna
